ABOUT ME
Serving My Community
One of my greatest strengths is finding compelling stories with unique angles that lead shows. I do that by following my passion for building community and relationships. I enjoy getting to know the people and places around me, and I quickly found out that exploring that passion and its ensuing connections aided my journalistic pursuits. My curiosity for others leads me to interesting and reliable sources that help me and my team tell engaging stories.
My capacity for learning from others is informed by the journalistic skills I strengthened while working at WDSU News, a New Orleans news station renowned for its award-winning breaking news coverage. While there, I learned how to turn stories around quickly and creatively by producing the 4:30 a.m. show and extended hurricane and emergency traffic coverage. I even broke three separate deadly shootings, so we were first on the scene--one of which was the shooting of a Louisiana State Trooper after an attempted carjacking. Also, I regularly pitched stories about local events and issues, some of which led the show for several days.
My academic background deeply guides my reporting. Studying political science at Tulane University taught me how to quickly and efficiently research complex global problems and to create strong, concise investigations that are easy to understand.

My experience allows me to tell complex stories that shed light on systematic problems. I am motivated by my drive to give others the information they need to thrive.
